Our Philosophy for this STEAM Carnival
Learning never retires. Curiosity and wonder are lifelong gifts that keep us young at heart.
Generations have so much to share with one another. Seniors have experienced incredible technological changes throughout their lives — from rotary phones to smartphones, handwritten letters to emails, and paper maps to GPS.
You have adapted before, and your perspective is just as valuable as any new technology. Your life experience is just as important as a child’s technical knowledge.
The best learning and the most meaningful conversations often happen through play. Hands-on activities help break down barriers, encourage connection, and spark natural conversations.
Technology is a tool, not a replacement. Human wisdom, creativity, kindness, and connection will always remain essential.
The Heart of Our Carnival: Love, Harmony, and Connection
Many of us learned as children that Santa may not exist as one single person. But the deeper truth is that Santa lives through every act of love, kindness, and generosity.
This Christmas, we explore how connection can be created between people and nature, people & people people, people and technology, and people and community.
Each activity tells a story of love and connection:
PEOPLE & NATURE
Activity 1: Forest Symphony (Digital Tree Growing & Music Composition)
Discover how we are part of nature’s delicate balance — a balance that thrives through cooperation, care, and mutual support, just like our community. This activity has two parts. Participants will grow digital trees, explore the creatures that help ecosystems thrive, and create music using plant leaves, fruits, and vegetables as instruments. Together, we will create forest symphonies that feel almost like magic!

Activity 2: Santa’s Igloo – A Constellation of Love
Light up stars representing your loved ones’ zodiac signs. Learn basic circuits while celebrating the special people in your life, creating your own constellation of beautiful memories.

Activity 3: Santa’s Showdown (Gift Delivery Challenge) – Human vs. AI
Explore AI and technological advances as powerful tools with both possibilities and limitations. Reflect on where human creativity, judgment, and care remain essential.

Fundraising Stall for Starship Children’s Hospital
Share your skills and generosity to bring joy and support to children in need.
