A Note of Thanks to the Settlers Lifestyle Retirement Village Community

As a student-led STEM club, Koru STEM has had the privilege of bringing our interactive exhibitions to the Settlers Lifestyle Retirement Village community and sharing science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics with residents, family members, and friends.

What began as a simple opportunity to share our passion for STEM became something far more meaningful. We did not expect funding or special recognition—we simply wanted to contribute what we had learned and create experiences that spark curiosity and joy. The encouragement and support we received from the Settlers community truly meant a great deal to all of us.

In a world where young people are often told to wait until they are older or more experienced before making a difference, the warmth and appreciation shown by the Settlers community reminded us that age is not a barrier to contributing, learning, and inspiring others.

We are especially grateful to Anne, Glenda, and the Residents Committee for going above and beyond in supporting us and helping make these events possible over the past two years.

Thank you for being the kind of community that welcomes young people, encourages their ideas, and makes them feel that they truly belong.
